This book surpassed my expectations. It has become a wonderful resource for restorative yoga, both as a teacher and in my personal practice. I enjoy Carey's clear, concise writings and appreciate her thoughtful use of language as she describes yoga therapy, and its focuses and benefits.

The Ultimate Restorative Yoga Therapy Resource

As a teacher and huge fan of restorative yoga therapy, I was excited to receive Carey's book and learn more about the Yapana Way to Self-Care and Well-Being. I love how she differentiates between "doing" poses and "being" poses with her system of yoga, and clearly explains the differences between the two as well as why both are necessary in a yoga practice.

I was excited to discover new ways to work with props to support my students and clients (of all abilities) fully relax into restorative yoga poses, and I was thrilled to have some new restorative yoga therapy sequences for specific issues, including pms, immunity enhancer, tension tamer and active recovery for athletes. Overall her descriptions and instructions, from how to fold and place the props to getting into the poses and how to modifying with more props, are easy to follow and accessible to brand new yogis. And the time table in the back is super helpful.

However, I was most impressed by Carey's ability to clearly break down and describe all of the various elements, benefits and challenges of restorative yoga therapy and the attention she gives to the process of moving inwards — doing less and feeling more. If you're on the fence about restorative yoga, the first chapter of "Restorative Yoga Therapy" will have you convinced. And if you teach restorative yoga therapy, you definitely want to check this book out, it's a great companion and offers some unique insight.

Better than endless Googling and asking people

It's an expensive book - expect a small paperback - but loaded with exactly the information you need for buying real estate in Japan. You would pay this price for a seminar on the subject, so just skip that and read this instead. It's worth it. Better than endless Googling and asking people.

If you want to buy a home in Japan, you have to buy this book. The complexity in the system and the process just make it necessary. However, most will be put off by the simple fact that buying in Japan as investment is not realistic as the author suggest in the first part of the book given the country demographics.

About the Author
Merrill Singer is a professor of anthropology and senior research scientist at the Center for Health, Intervention and Prevention at the University of Connecticut. Hans Baer is a senior lecturer in the School of Social and Political Sciences and the Centre of Health and Society at the University of Melbourne, Australia. His books include Toward an Integrative Medicine and Medical Anthropology and the World System.

Gian-Paolo Biasin finds in Montale's poetry broad resonances, reverberations, and comparisons that involve it in the European culture of its time and that invite the reading of poetry, music, and painting as texts in a cultural system. This interdisciplinary approach expands our appreciation of Montale's work in a way not possible with literary analysis alone.

Biasin's study first shows the structural homology between some of Debussy's preludes for piano and certain poems in Montale's Ossi di seppia, emphasizing the rhythmic qualities of the compositions. This formal analysis leads to an understanding of the respective texts' thematic, symbolic, and cultural meaning--specifically, antiheroism as a choice of life. Similar methodology is then used to reveal the relationship between the poetry of Montale and Giorgio Morandi's etchings and between Montale's poetic persona, Arsenio, and the novelistic characters of Svevo and Pirandello. Each of these comparisons brings to light a shared image, that of the clown (or antihero) as a mocking self-portrait of the modern artist.

An approachable, useful start to learning common Android tasks, but may leave some wanting more.

This book is easy to follow and breaks things down into many small, easily digestible chapters. This is helpful for those first starting out, since they won't get overwhelmed, and numerous chapters makes you feel like you're making progress rather than getting lost in the trenches.

For the most part I like the approach to learning - most chapters are sort of a "how to" for common android tasks. Some of these involve very small custom projects, or modifying the starter templates. You feel like you learn how to do things quickly and don't get lost following tons of steps for huge sample projects.

However, this approach also has one big downside - the book doesn't have much content on building larger, more real world applications - it feels very much like a collection of small tutorials. It would have been nice to have a few chapters at the end that provide an overview of a larger project, even if it doesn't go through every step. This would be really helpful for learning Android project structures, design patterns, and seeing how all of the various components fit together in a cohesive whole.
I would have also liked to see more on HTTP communication and consuming web services or aggregating data, it seems there is very little content on that, even though its an extremely common task in real world projects.

Complete, albeit a little cumbersome.

Details everything that I have come to expect from Haynes manuals. The one gripe that I have is that it covers so many different model years and both 250cc and 400cc-making it slightly confusing whenever trying to read in a linear fashion. I almost feel like I have to highlight the applicable parts.

Surprising, Delicious, Fun - A sweet couple take a bold sexy leap. I want to see more.

This was a very enjoyable and sexy read. It kept me captivated and pulled me in more than I expected. I thought I was just going to read a bit before going to bed, but instead I couldn't stop until I was done (fortunately it was short). Two things I will mention however: One, to the author: While I really like your writing and style, have another proofreader look at it. You have a few obvious typos (extra words that you forgot to delete, some misspellings - an autos "brake" is not spelled "break", etc). But readers, that's just for the author to know about so she can fix it and make an already wonderful story even easier to read - the mistakes are very infrequent and I still heartily recommend this story. She's a truly talented writer and I look forward to reading more of her stories. (One last thing, add a little more to the end. We think we know where it's going, but it would be so much more satisfying to read a few details on how they will go on, even if more about them comes in another book. I hate to call it a cliffhanger, but some might.

Good until the last chapter

I really wanted this to be a 5-star review but the book ended up disappointing me at the very end, which really lost it a star rating. It starts out very well, has some good character development, and even some fun and erotic scenes. But the last chapter just made me feel like it was a "hot mess" with the mixed message that our male lead LIKES what is happening and HATES what is happening. A different ending would have improved it a great deal.

Hot story,the lead up into what started their adventure,a great parking garage setting,the party setting and getting there was a bonus scene and had great backstory with the watchers the party romp was interesting but ended way to soon. Would have liked more to come.

Sally Van Doren's first book, Sex at Noon Taxes, received the Walt Whitman Award from the Academy of American Poets. She has taught in the St. Louis Public Schools and curates the Sunday Poetry Series for the St. Louis Poetry Center.

SALLY VAN DOREN SOARS

Sally Van Doren proves, emphatically, her genius as one of America's most compelling and distinctive poetic voices. In this, her second volume of poems--following her greatly auspicious beginning in "Sex At Noon Taxes"--Ms Van Doren takes her place beside the genre's most far-thinking poets: among them: Dara Wier, Troy Jollimore, Alice Notley. John Berryman and the likes. In Possessive she stands shoulder-to shoulder with these greats in demonstrating her virtuosity with language--always fresh and exhilarating--with no loss to meaning. These are poems which do what is almost never seen in the current canon: they are both disturbing and consoling. Here, you can restore your faith in the--importance--of poetry.
